GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – This November, �鶹ԭ��’s Homecoming will be more than a weekend of traditions; it will be a powerful celebration of resilience, unity, and the enduring Pioneer spirit. After the recent impact of Hurricane Helene, the decision to hold Homecoming in November reflects our dedication to supporting Greeneville and East Tennessee, bringing together alumni, students, faculty, and neighbors for a memorable weekend that honors both community strength and shared heritage.

In the face of widespread flooding and significant challenges, the �鶹ԭ��family came together in remarkable ways. Whether it was neighboring universities opening their doors to house our students, local families offering support, or our own faculty and staff adapting to provide continuity, every gesture has underscored the unwavering spirit of this community. Homecoming this year is a celebration of those ties and a way to honor everyone who has been part of the journey through these recent times.

While we always look forward to Homecoming as a way to reconnect with friends and classmates, this year carries a deeper significance. It’s an invitation to gather in the spirit of gratitude—gratitude for a community that continually supports one another and rises to meet challenges together. From the Kickoff Bonfire to the Alumni Memorial Service and Pioneer Walk, each event will be a moment to reflect on our shared history and celebrate what makes �鶹ԭ��special.

As we come together, we’ll also be honoring the partnerships and friendships that have sustained us. The special acknowledgment of Carson-Newman University, who housed nearly 100 of our students, is just one example of how our region comes together to lift each other up. We look forward to welcoming them to Pioneer Field on Saturday, November 9, when �鶹ԭ��’s football team will meet theirs in a game that represents the very best of sportsmanship and fellowship.

This unique outdoor theatrical event has captured the hearts of community members across the region and offers an evening of captivating entertainment, social engagement, and an opportunity to support student organizations.

“Edgar Allan Poe and Other Stories in the Woods” is a showcase of local talent, featuring five short plays that celebrate both classic and original works. With plays lasting 10-12 minutes each and performed multiple times throughout the evening, audiences will have the chance to experience each one in a charming outdoor setting.

From the eerie atmosphere of “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe to the creative local works such as “Eyes in the Woods: A Mothman Legend” and ��ٰձ��,” this event is packed with a variety of narratives that will captivate the imagination of all attendees. We are also thrilled to support our student organizations with their concessions, which will directly fund their activities and enrich their collegiate experience.”
